Facial Before/After Recommendations

  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding (pumpkin enzyme mask treatment ok).
  • Stop use of isotretinoin 12 months prior to treatment.
  • No history of radiation on the area that will be treated.
  • No active herpes simplex or active infection.
  • No history of hypertrophic scar formation.
  • Do not wax the area that will be treated for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Do not shave for at least 24 hours before treatment.
  • Stop use of RetinA or similar medications for 2 weeks.
  • Stop use of benzoyl peroxide for 1 week.
  • Must protect skin from direct sun for three days post procedure (restrain from the beach, hiking, etc).
  • Must apply broad-spectrum sunblock every day and reapply when necessary.
  • Avoid hot bath/shower, sweating, and strenuous exercise after the treatment for the rest of the day. (This also applies to sugaring services).
  • Avoid rubbing, picking or scrubbing skin after treatment.
  • Do not use exfoliating agents until 3 days after treatment.
  • Because we care about your well-being we would like to let you know that receiving a massage or facial can over stimulate your immune system if you are already sick, which can make you feel worse. As such, we ask that you reschedule your appointment if you have a cold, fever or flu. In return, your therapist will not work on you if they are sick.
  • Avoid the use of Accutane.

Dermaplaning Contraindications

  • Active infection
  • Active cold sores
  • The use of prescription retinol within a week of treatment
  • Active acne
  • Any raised lesions
  • Any recent chemical peel procedures
  • Chemotherapy or radiation
  • Eczema or Dermatitis
  • Hemophilia Hormonal therapy that produces thick pigmentation
  • Moles
  • Oral blood thinner medications
  • Use of Glycolic acids and Alpha-hydroxy acids
  • Rosacea
  • Scleroderma
  • Skin cancer
  • Sunburn
  • Tattoos
  • Thick, dark facial hair
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Use of Accutane within the last year

Microneedling Contraindications

  • Active Cold Sore (Herpes Simplex Virus) and Acne – We recommend taking an antiviral the day before, day of and day after the service to help avoid a possible breakout for those prone to cold sores.
  • Keloid Scars or Raised Scarring
  • History of Eczema
  • Psoriasis or other chronic conditions
  • Presence of Raised Moles
  • Warts or Raised Lesions on Treatment Area
  • New Scart Tissue/Wounds
  • Absolute Contraindications Include: Scleroderma, Active Bacterial or Fungal Infection, Women who are Pregnant or Nursing.
